The Bishop's Committee and Fr. Russ have signed a covenant. He
will begin his ministry at St. Mark's on September 1, 2004. The covenant
states that he will be the celebrant for Eucharist three Sundays each month.
He will meet regularly with the Bishop's Committee and be available for
other pastoral duties when possible. He will assist in identifying
and providing training for congregational leaders.
The covenant also states that the St. Mark's congregation will support
Fr. Fisher through daily prayer and attendance at the various services
and activities of the church. The congregation will provide lay leadership
in worship services, Christian education, evangelism and outreach.
This covenant will be renewed after an evaluation of mutual ministry in
December 2004.
We give thanks for a pastoral leader (semi retired) who lives only 7
miles down the road in Santa Anna. We have come to know his wife,
LouAnn, and we are looking forward to having them both with us.
Remember: We are all ministers of the church according to our
gifts and talents. Let us bind together in love, worship, and work
to make St. Mark's, Coleman, a place that is open and welcoming to all
who wish to love, worship, and work along side us to spread His Kingdom
in our part of the world, and beyond. A place to refresh our souls,
lift our spirits, and feed our faith. Not to mention the blessings
we receive by hanging out with this church family. Suggestion:
Read, again, The Baptismal Covenant beginning on page 416 of the Book of
Common Prayer. Let's Roll!!!
